Reflection Report of the Webinar Title: “Introduction to IT Acquisition”

“Introduction to IT Acquisition” webinar covers the key principles, processes, and challenges involved in IT Acquisition. The webinar was facilitated by the Information Technology Development Center (ITDC), held on September 3, 2025, with Engr. Medel E. Aligan as the guest speaker. A recognized GPPB procurement Trainer.

This webinar has introduced me to the proper process of acquiring these IT assets before being imported into our country. These IT assets are either a product, such as hardware, or services like applications that organizations have invested in purchasing these IT assets for the betterment of the organization. I learned that it follows a well-organized plan, the correct ways of purchasing these assets, as well as the common issues that occur in IT acquisition. Moreover, before acquiring these goods, it should also align with the organization's objectives. Engr. Medel was a good instructor; he was specific in his discussions and gave tips on handling a few issues and smart purchases to acquire the best qualities and avoid being scammed. This shows how knowledgeable he is about his topic. 

Despite the webinar's lack of interaction with the participants, it just shows how serious the topic is. These IT assets are crucial in advancing our country; they help a lot of organizations to explore new tools that could benefit and ease their job. I believe the webinar could have been more lively if we had more interactions, such as simple questions that would allow us to think and be curious about the topic.
