            The event “Palette Spark: Unveiling the Hues and Passion of GCCCS BSEMC Students” took place on November 3, 2025, at the Gordon College Function Hall. It was organized by the 4th-year students of BSEMC to showcase their capstone film projects.

Reflections on the Event/Activity (Learnings)

            I found the event to be incredibly exciting, especially since we were among the organizers. It was a great opportunity to finally showcase our films to the students. Not only did we present our film, but we also set up booths, and to our surprise, many attendees purchased a lot of our merchandise. It was rewarding to see that so many students enjoyed our film.

            Although we had very little sleep leading up to the event due to preparations, we maintained a professional demeanor throughout. 

            However, one unfortunate aspect was that the event started late. My team, Tanaw Animation Studio, was scheduled to present our animated film, "Clicked," last. As a result, many students had to leave for lunch, and we were left with only a small audience for our presentation.

            Despite the low turnout, many attendees found our film to be wonderful and educational. Some provided helpful feedback on areas we could improve, such as pacing and sound design. I appreciated their comments, acknowledging that certain aspects of our film could be better.

            I hope to create more animations in the future, as I poured a lot of my passion and hard work into "Clicked." Hearing positive feedback was gratifying, and to my surprise, I did not expect so many people to like it. That said, I still believe there's always room for improvement.

Reflections on Practical Applications of the Learnings

            During the event, I learned a lot about managing timing, flow, and booth setup. I believe it is crucial to adhere to the scheduled timeline. Unfortunately, I noticed that many students left during the show. While I understand they needed to go for lunch, this highlights the importance of following the event's timeline. As a result, we were unable to meet our goal of gathering 100 respondents due to the low audience turnout. The event was originally scheduled to end around noon, which would have allowed students to have their lunch break after all the films were shown to a full audience.

            Additionally, I was surprised by how many students purchased our merchandise. However, I believe we could have made our booth stand out more with better decorations and a wider variety of products, as we did not anticipate selling out so quickly.

Positive Feedback on Event Organization

            The event was fantastic, with many team members coming together to celebrate and showcase their animated films. All the films were masterpieces, and it appeared that the audience enjoyed them as well. It was heartwarming to see how supportive everyone was within each team.

However, I am still concerned about the audience turnout for our film, "Clicked," as well as for a project from High Five Animation Studios, which attracted only a small audience. I wish we could have drawn a larger crowd that day, as we are now dealing with a low number of responses for our film evaluation.

Suggestions for Improvements for Future Activities

            I appreciate the feedback we received on our film. Some comments were positive, while others were more critical, and I acknowledge that. I admit there are many areas where we still need to improve, and I see this as both a challenge and an opportunity to learn for my future animations.

            Regarding the event, I believe we could have managed the scheduling for each film more effectively. It was unfortunate that some films had only a small audience, and I wish everyone had had an equal turnout. Additionally, we could have prepared more merchandise for our booth and made it more visually appealing. I will keep these points in mind for future events.
